Sept 29th the day Xbox Live went Dead
Something new to waste my time on
He's back. Today Duke Nukem 3D drop's in the Xbox Live Market Place and since I have finished The Force Unleashed (even though I still need to get through Metal Gear Solid 4 and waiting for the patch to fix Castle Crashers Online) this will give me something to pass the time and re-live some of my childhood. So with this great accomplishment 3D Realms maybe you can finally finish the new Duke Nukem game you have been working on for like 13 years....yea that would be great because paying off 64 bit strippers can get old fast.

Heroes Season 3
Thank you making my Monday that much better, however I do have some bones to pick with you Heroes Season 3. First really didn't need that pre-show special because it didn't tell me anything new or that I could have found out in the special features of the DVD's.
Besides that the 2 hour premier was very good and left me wondering what is going to happen like the end of every episode should. Just please don't turn this into a Soup Opera. With that said here are a few things I could do with out:
1: The whole Peter from the Future story line. From what we have gathered from the past 2 seasons and 3 Back To The Future movies we know that messing with the past always changes the future.
2: Is Mohinder turning into The Abomination?
3: I really don't need Maya and her creepy eyes anymore.
4: This doesn't have to the show, but COME ON Nick Maya over Elle are your insane?
Other then that can I PLEASE have DC Universe Online now? Because Heroes just makes me want to be a super hero even more now.

Star Wars: The Forced Unleashed review
First and for most I must applaud Lucas Arts for what they have done. Combining three graphic engines into one game is pretty amazing and can be seen through out the game.
Now to the game itself. The controls are pretty easy to learn and once you have them down pat you will be using the force to basically do whatever you want. One thing Lucas Arts could have done was have made the targeting system a little more accurate and user friendly. All through out the game I was trying to pick something up or use my force lighting on some imperial trooper but starkiller was locked on an object. Also it's a pain in the ass the bring down that star destroyer. There were a few times when I had everything lined up as the game wanted, but the action wouldn't turn green. However I was still able to fulfill a childhood dream of mine.
Graphics I will give two cheers and a high five. The detail of some of the planets is remarkable and breath taking. However when breaking through some of the glass and doors they could have been a little better instead they just like fell. The cut scenes were amazing and gave some understanding of what happens in between episodes 3 & 4. However I was felt going WTF at the end of the game.
Story again gave some understanding of what happens in between episodes 3 & 4. However I was felt going WTF at the end of the game.
As it been reported there are a few glitch's in the game and when they happen it can be VERY annoying. An example of some of the ones I ran into are: If you get knocked down surrounded by enemies you wont be able to get back up, when battling the second Jedi he got stuck on the outside and I wasn't allowed to execute the finishing move, while in the first part of the Death Star level I jumped up and saber slammed an AT-ST and wound up in space walking around until I feel, and when battling the Emperor he got stuck in a lighting shield and caught in the forced field around the battle ground. O and this really isn't a glitch, but the boss battle cam isn't great and can be annoying when you two are at different ends of the map.
All in all this game is a rental if you want to try something new and a buy if your a star wars fan.
3.5 out 5 is my rating.

A Static Lullaby - Rattlesnake!
Holy F*cking Sh!t A Static Lullaby have stepped their game up. Rattlesnake! is their fourth studio album and basically a quick kick right in the face. Honestly I think they have found their sound and prove they are still a force to to recon with. 2006's Self-titled album showed ASL going back to their sound on ...Don't Forget To Breathe and 2005's Faso Latido was a departure for them, but still a good album by ASL.
Rattlesnake! is hard hitting, quick, and an ray of lyrics that leave you wanting more yet feeling like a Rattlesnake just bit you on yo ass. You can definitely tell that deciding to stay a four-piece was the best decision for them and creativity they are on they are on fire.
This is their second release on Fearless Records and you can tell that being free from Colombia Records (Sorry MP I know you tried but the world wasn't ready for ASL) and you can tell giving them the freedom to create what they want pays off.
Rattlesnake! might have slithered it's way into my favorite album of 2008.
5/5. It's hard for a band to continue with a sound and flow through out their entire record and ASL kept it going on Rattlesnake!

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
So this weekend I went out and treated myself to a Playstation 3 and a little game entitled Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. All I have to say this has been a pretty good investment thus far (more so then Turok, NHL 09, & Rainbow Six Vegas 2).
Visually this game is flawless. I mean during some of the cut scenes (which there is a reported 90 hours of) you can't believe your eyes. My only problem is with the TV Channels in the beginning of the game and the scenes with the eggs. Why did I need those?
The controls are pretty basic and just like all the other MGS games.
Story wise I am only on the second act so I really can't comment about it so far.
My only real problem with it is the save points. Why must I wait until the end of a "chapter" to save huh Konami? Why can't I save at one of the MILLION cut scenes you have through out the game? I may be a video game nerd, but I do have a life and maybe I want to be somewhat green and turn my system off when I'm not playing it (yes it is a "vampire" system though).
Also to get the some of the emblem's one must:
Big Boss: Successfully complete the game on the Boss Extreme difficulty without dying, instigating no alerts, killing no enemies (including Bosses), using no life recovery items, using no stealth suit or bandanna special items (can possess, but not activate), and with a completion time of less than 5 hours.
Fox: Successfully complete the game on the Naked Normal or higher difficulty without dying, instigating no more than five alerts, killing no enemies (including Bosses), using no life recovery items, using no stealth suit or bandanna special items (can possess, but not activate), and with a completion time of less than 6 hours.
Fox Hound: Successfully complete the game on the Big Boss Hard or higher difficulty without dying, instigating no more than three alerts, killing no enemies (including Bosses), using no life recovery items, using no stealth suit or bandanna special items (can possess, but not activate), and with a completion time less than 5 hours and 30 minutes.
Come on really?
Why Harold Ramis Why????
I just ran across this on my internetz adventures today.
"yes, columbia is developing a script for GB3 with my year one writing partners, gene stupnitsky and lee eisenberg. judd apatow is co-producing year one and has made several other films for sony, so of course the studio is hoping to tap into some of the same acting talent. aykroyd, ivan reitman and i are consulting at this point, and according to dan, bill murray is willing to be involved on some level. he did record his dialogue for the new ghostbusters video game, as did danny and i, and ernie hudson. the concept is that the old ghostbusters would appear in the film in some mentor capacity. not much else to say at this point. everyone is confident a decent script can be written and i guess we'll take it from there."
Come on if it isn't the original Ghostbusters I don't want to see it. Bill Murray has it right when he said this is a bad idea and wouldn't do it.
Gym Class Heroes - The Quilt
Take the sound of For The Kids & The Papercut Chronicles and mix those two together and you have The Quilt. The latest from Geneva, New York's indie hip hop quartet delivers everything you would expect form GCH with a more mainstream hip hop feel. From start to finish this is a solid record and a little off the beaten path for them.
Lyricist Travis McCoy covers a wide range of personal topics including battling his demons (addiction), his love for woman, and teaming with one half of his idols Hall & Oats (Daryl Hall appears on the track Live Forever (Fly With Me)). McCoy is never one to be coy with his lyrics and can bring up old school/pop culture/geek references like no one.
Guitarist Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo continues to melt our ears and faces with his ability and even wrote one of the songs for the album. Some people might under write his ability, but after seeing them live or even listening to his ability on the last two CD's they will surely be mistaken.
Bassist Eric Roberts might have had to bow down to more computer sounds in the studio, but I feel that he will be able to show them who is boss live.
Same goes for drummer Matt McGinley. Drum machines can not replicate what he brings to the table for GCH and voiced his opinion during mixing getting more natural sounds put in.
This CD may not be what everyone was expecting McCoy and crew to produce, but hey F them because this is what Gym Class Heroes do best...Surprise and treat you to something that is audio bliss (well to me at least). I have a feeling if you were a fan of them before As Cruel As School Children then you will thoroughly enough this CD. If not it may take a few listens to gain appreciation for it.
I give it a 4.5 because of not using the band to their full potential, however I understand where they were going and what they were doing.
Favorite track(s) - Peace sign up/ index down, Cookie Jar, and Live Forever (Fly With Me).

Highlights from The Ultimate Geek Must Buy List
Games
Left 4 Dead
Gears of War 2
Street Fighter 4
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Ghostbusters
Resident Evil 5
Fable 2
Now here is where we differ seeing as how I already got an Xbox 360 Elite. So instead I need to pick myself up a Playstation 3 so I can play DC Universe Online seeing as how I own a MAC and it's not getting made for that.
Spore
Today one of most highly anticipated games for the PC and Mac came out. From the guy (Will Wright) who brought you The Sims comes Spore: Creature Creator.
Spore allows you to create a new species and control it from a single celled organism as it evolves into a complex species and then take it into space where it can interact with aliens.
From what I have seen the graphics look amazing and there are endless possibilities of ways to make your creature look.
The game is based on single player play however you can upload your creature into a database where it will then be rated by other players who then have the option of downloading to their world just like you can do with the mii's for wii.
The buzz around this game has been ever growing since it was announced. I can see this game becoming very addicting as you try to get your species to evolve. Also seeing as how the Sim games were very popular I'm sure Spore will follow suit.

Castle Crashers
This past weekend I stumbled upon a little game on the Xbox Live Arcade called Castle Crashers. For the small price of 1,200 (about 15 bucks in real life) marketplace place you can download this little title and begin going medieval on some CPU ass.
Before you start your quest you have the choice of four different characters each with a different magic power: The Green Knight who shots what looks like toxic sludge, Red Knight whose power is lighting, Blue Knight who is basically Sub-Zero, and the Orange Knight with the ability to shot fire.
The game starts off pretty funny with your character rocking out before getting interrupted. Now from what I can gather your mission is to go and get back the Princess’s that we taken and this giant crystal that was taken by a guy that looks like (draws a blank).
As you progress through the game your character level’s up allowing you to add points to increase their strength, magic, agility, and defense. You are also taught new combos, pick up different weapons that can affects any of your abilities, and have little animal orbs follow you each have their own way of helping you. Any time you want to change weapons or animals all you have to do it head back to the blacksmith and take what you want.
Now as stated before I really haven’t played my heart out because it was Labor Day weekend and my liver needed to be punished. However the map is very Super Mario World 2/3ish and very easy to navigate. Along the way you can stop off at stores to buy new weapons, animal orbs, bombs, and health potion/pb&j sandwich’s that help you grow stronger. Also if you want to try your hand in a arena battle they have they in just about each “world,” but keep in mind they will make you mad and if you win then hey a new hidden character!
The enemies get stronger as you progress through each world and that will help you decide which animal orb (rammy or batty can be helpful) to take along. Bosses aren’t going to cause you to play for 24 straight hours to beat them and if they do then you may want to hang up your controller right now.
My only real problem with the game is that it freeze’s when you try to play on Xbox Live or has a problem finding games. Microsoft and the developers are working on a patch right now to fix said problems and I hope they get out soon because playing this by yourself can get a little boring.
All and all this is a must buy for anyone who needs something new to play until The Force Unleashed comes out (12 days) or enjoys some pretty sweet and funny graphics.
Graphics – 4/5
Controls – 4/5
Fun Factor – 4/5

The Game Show
You can check out The Game Show Live every Tuesday at 1am EST/10pm PST on Stream TV. You will fall in love with the host's, share a few laughs, and maybe win some cool prizes. Plus G4's Alison Haislip joins them every so often to lend her beauty, charm, and smarts (Nikola 'think that;s how you spell her name but stupid web filters at work' has plenty of that to go around).
Some reasons to buy a PS3
O and apparently the Blue Ray player in it has the ability to upgrade itself and the Blue Ray format changes which means regular Blue Ray players won't work with new Blue Ray technology when it comes out. Plus a Blue Ray player, those games, help with the Stanford HOME project, and an entertainment system for $400 bucks not to shabby (I think I like you a tad bit more PS3 and may go and buy you now).
Ghostbusters: The Video Game in video game Limbo
One of the most anticipated games of the year (not only by yours truly) has joined the looked of the new Duke Nukem Game in video game limbo. However unlike everyone's favorite pig cop killing, catchy one liner spitting, and stripper fondling Bad Ass this game hasn't been in the works for about half my life.
According to recent (not really) news:
"On July 28, 2008 Activision Blizzard (the publisher of Vivendi's and Sierra's titles) announced that only five franchises would be released through Activision. Ghostbusters was not one of them and was put in developmental limbo following the announcement. The Sierra PR team later confirmed that the game was not and would not be cancelled. The game is still listed on the Activision website with a release date of the October 31, 2008. On July 30, 2008, it was reported that the game may be delayed until 2009, with Sony Pictures stating "this has presented [Sony Pictures Consumer Products] with an opportunity to reevaluate the game release marketing strategy to potentially coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original film in '09." Activision and Sony Pictures are looking for another publisher."
All I have to say is WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Why must the entertainment industry mess with all the good things from my childhood. I swear if the G.I. Joe isn't even close to being what it should be, this game doesn't come out, and Michael Bay f*ck's up Soundwave in the new Transformers movie I will no longer have anything left to remember from my childhood because they have all been distorted by Hollywood and their games (well hopefully the new TMNT movie can bring some of it back if it doesn't suck).
New Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie coming!!!!!
This is the best news I have heard today and I feel like I am 5 years old again. Hopefully they will make up for the disaster (in my opinion) of that animated TMNT movie that came out like two years ago. Plus even though most people will disagree the third movie was pretty great.
Imagi and Warners I BEG YOU do not SCREW UP this "re-invention" because I will never forgive you. You were able to bring Batman back to what it should be so work the same magic with this.
Also if your looking for someone to play Master Splinter I know the perfect person.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
This weekend I watched Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and all I have to say is Buy it, Rent, Download it, do whatever you need to in order to see this.
You follow Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris) as he try's to get into the Evil League of Evil. Each of the three Act's start off with Dr. Horrible vblogging about his feelings and what he has planned. You learn about his crush on penny and his arc nemesis Captain Hammer. I really don't want to give anything away so I am just going to say that the songs are both heart-felt and funny with a bit of touching mixed in. Even though each of the three act's are about 14 minutes each you are left wanting more and attached to each of the characters.

Online stalking that much easier
Now I will admit that when I am bored at work (which is all the time) Facebook really helps kill some time. From checking status updates, profile updates, and playing some of the games they have on there. The addition of the status update on Facebook was pretty neat. One could let all their friends know what they were doing, feeling, or planning so people could join, ask, and whatever else they wanted.
However it seems like the Facebook status update has become a means of communication for people and with the help of the Facebook app for iPhones and Blackberry's one can keep the world updated of what they are up to 24/7.
Now there is a site and app that get's rid of all the other Facebook crap and is just a status updater. Twitter is slowly taking over people's most visited web sites and checked/clicked on app on their phone. Of course in this ever changing world one could witness something and right away let their friends know about it.
These ideas are a great way of spreading information, but they can make online stalking that much easier. Also they allow for some pretty boring updates like Hey I'm eating tacos tonight! Come one at least make it exciting like Dumpster diving at Taco Bell for dinner!
O and I totally forgot about Missed Connections on Craigslist.
My current wish list/saving up for
First and for most is a Job & Place in the city. Like I said before this current job is killing slowly each and every day. That and add the fact that my town and house are eating away at my soul the longer I am in them. With that out of the way now comes the good stuff.
Seeing as how I want to start writing more about video games, I am going to need to get myself one of these. Even though I was against the system at first (mainly because of the $800 price tag for a good version of the system) come September the price for one with an 80 gig hard drive is going to be like $400 bucks. Plus having a blue ray player, PS Home looks promising, and DC Universe you really can't go wrong.
A far fetched idea for me because seeing as how much I use my current camera. However I would really love to start taking some quality pictures and maybe cataloging some adventures. For a decent price the Nikon D40 is basically all I need to do both.
God forbid I am stuck in the job for longer then I can imagine I am going to need a new car. Seeing as how the G is on it's last leg I feel the VW Rabbit is one of the car's I have had in mind for awhile. Plus a nice size car with good gas mileage these days can go a long way.

Star Wars: The Forced Unleashed
So today I played the downloadable demo of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and all I have to say is WOW. Lucas Arts has worked very hard on bring us one of the most impressive games of the end of 08/ start of 09 and in my own opinion a contender for Game of the Year.
Even though the demo is very short (maybe about 25-30% of one of the first few maps) it allows you to gain a basic idea of how the controls work. From combo moves with your lightsaber, force grip, force push, and force lighting the player has anyone and basically anything to destroy at their fingertips. Lucas Arts developed two or three new graphic engines to go along with the Havoc engine for this game in order to allow the player to do so much.
For this mission you are told to find one of the remaining Jedi and kill them being their lightsbaer back to Darth Vader and leaving no witness behind (that means killing the imperils to). As you make your way through you gain a working knowledge of how to use your powers and combine them with others. Little helpful hits pop up here and there to explain certain things. I really don't want to ruin the ending, but all I have to say is that once the animation finished all I wanted was to continue my mission and kill this Jedi.
Graphic wise this game looks amazing and can only wonder what all the other maps look like besides a star destroyer. Lucas Arts really has delivered with this game and maybe now I can but away my 64 and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.

Thousands of dollars in debt for a free iphone or ipod
Now I really know that my former college sucks. Well not entirely because I can understand the reasoning for not offering free ipods or iphones to students because hey you need to dish out the cash for them and the state doesn't really help out with tuition anymore. But I mean come on you say your one of the leading providers of education in New Jersey, yet you lack so much.
Like honestly I think some things could be sacrificed for the sake of education (maybe the football team that hasn't had a winning season in like 13 years or draw that big of a crowd). Or maybe not building all those new dorm buildings when you can barely fill the ones you have or have students that stay on campus on the weekends because there is NOTHING to do.
Of course what is thousands upon thousands of dollars of debt compared to a $200-300 dollar iphone or $300-500 dollar ipod touch? I have no clue, but if it got me the latest tech for only the price of the calling plan, something to do on the weekends, and a sports team that draws a crowd and national television...it could be worth it.
Why can't I have a Transformer for a car
Then at the stop sign to get onto 79 my car decides to stall not once but FOUR…yea FOUR times while waiting for traffic to open up. Once I get going it take me forever to get up to speed and o wait stall again at the traffic light for Texas road. Finally after fighting with the car it get going and so far knock on wood is still working at the moment.
Of course this happens when I have no money for anything because my student loan repayments have kicked in, my dad is asking me to get him every f**king thing he sees on TV for him and wont give me the money till it comes in the mail so my credit card bill is getting higher, my glasses break, and god only knows what else is going to happen.
This week just needs to end hopefully on a high note with a certain phone call I have been waiting for

Give us a break already
Usually I am not one to let things like this get to me, but enough is enough. For the past 2 months give or take the world or I should say the US has had this compelling interest in the lives of two athletes. If you do not know who I am talking about well I mean Brett Favre and Michael Phelps.
Now in no way shape of form am I knocking what these guys have accomplished in their careers because god knows I would love to do it, but I mean come on enough is enough. Do I really care about what they eat, listen to, or how they are feeling…no. Of course there is no escape from either right now because one has the greater New York City area breathing down his neck and the other has the world in aw.
One thing I do understand is that for some this is the chance to see their team (yea right!) make it or even WIN the Superbowl. May I just remind Jet fans that they are in the AFC and have 2 of the best defenses in the entire NFL in that conference (Vikings and Chargers). And for the other it could be a few more weeks or four more years of what he did.
For now I take watching ESPN and any other local news with my remote in hand because I do not know how much more I can take. Plus with Ninja Warrior on G4 all the time who cares what Favre or Phelps do, because I don’t think either of them could make it through all four stages.

One hit wonders that live on forever...well at least on my ipod
1. Little T & One Track Mike - Shaniqua -. While watching MTV some years ago before it was filled with The Hills, My super this my super that, and some great (I mean that in a hey let me make fun of these people way) this music video came on and opened my mind to Little T & One Track Mike. From time to time I need to be reminded that Shaniqua don't live here a no more.
2. Bad Ronald - Let's Begin (Shoot The Sh**)- Again some night that my mind was opened to Shaniqua and her dirty pirate hooker ways my mind didn't know how to react to the Mr. Rogers inspired video. When the video begins you don't expect to be brought into a world with girls in pj's, a giant condom costume, puppets that look like they belong in the Saves The Day "Freakish" video, and a creepy old man that should meet Chris Mathews. However I love the video and the song even more and think it should still be a mandatory party song today.
3. Skee-Lo - I Wish - One of the first rap songs I liked. Video was alright just an average little guy wanting to get the girl and be able to play ball. Let alone the fact that he makes a great point through out the song and one of my main wish's...I wish I was a little bit taller, wish I was a baller, I wish I had a girl who looked good I would call her, I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat, and a six four Impala.
4. Biz Markie - Just A Friend - Not only does this song basically sum up my life, but it is also amazing. Come on I mean Biz dressed up in a powered wig and 18th century clothing.
5. Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffany's - I don't know why, but I love this song.
6. Spacehog - In The Meantime - Great song.

New phone
Little rant
Jim Halpert: Because right now, this is a job. If I advance any higher, this would be my career. And if this were my career, I'd have to throw myself in front of a train.
That quote right there speaks so much about how I feel right now. Over the past 3 months I have come to realize that if I do not get out of my current job, I will be miserable for the rest of my life. There is no way I can do something that I do not love or my heart is not in it. Everyday when that alarm clock goes off it is like torture (recently my clock has been setting itself back like 3 hours so I never wake up on time, ghosts maybe?)
Recently I have had a string (and by string I mean a tiny thread) of luck with 2 straight weeks with an interview. One I thought was for a talent agency….Wrong! The other was for this production company and hopefully I will get it because the place was great. From the people I meet who were really cool, a laid back office (goodbye dressing up), great location in the City, and a dog just chillen in the office. What more could a person ask for? Even if I don’t land this opportunity I know that at least my resume is being looked at by some places.
My only problem is that it is coming down to the wire for me. I really don’t know how much longer I can do what I am doing or pretend that I am enjoying it. If it weren’t for the people I meet in my class chances are I would have gone insane, became depressed, or all the above plus more.
That and seeing as how I can’t stand my town anymore because there really isn’t anything left for me there. Friends have come and gone and honestly I can no longer pretend to be or give my all to “friends” who can’t even be bothered by me. Yea I know I am not the best person around, but I don’t think I burned that many bridges with my actions or how I feel about some people. Hopefully by getting out I can finally be happy again.

Batman: Gotham Knight
Gotham Knights starts off with three skateboarders and their encounter with Batman on their way to a skate park. Each one has a crazed version of what Batman looks like (one makes him Alex Mack and The Shadow combined, one makes him a human bat creature, and the last one turns Batman into a mix between a Transformer and Inspector Gadget). The story comes to an end with the real Batman fighting the same criminal described in the three stories and Batman being saved by one of the four skateboarders.
The next five shorts actually are the filler between the real movies. We come to discover that the island the Narrows is on has been turned into Arkham Asylum. I found this really interesting because instead of the Gotham Police trying to recapture all the criminals that have escaped from Arkham they basically quarantine the entire island (great now all the homeless from the Narrows are going to take over the streets of Gotham City good going Gotham Police).
From their we see the struggle between Batman and Sal Maroni (he took over for Carmine Falcone) and "The Russian." It was interesting to see how both men couldn't put their differences aside to try and take care of "the bat problem." Along with that we see the return of Dr. Crane AKA The Scarecrow and how he is trying to take over the underground world in the Narrows.
The last two shorts I feel kind of don't live up to the previous three. We see Batman try to find a way to understand pain and how to use it and him fight the assassin Deadshot. Yea they fill you in on a more personal level with Batman, but I could have done with out them.
One thing I really like is how the three or four stories depicted Bruce Wayne as an average person. Not the NFL linebacker other animated Batman depictions have done and the last one basically made him look like Christian Bale.
All in all if you an avid Batman fan then this is for you. If your just a fan of the films you really aren't missing that much and will not be lost between films. Now I guess I just have to wait and try not to go crazy before I rush to the movie theater to see The Dark Knight at 12 Thursday night/ Friday morning.

Katy Perry - One of the Boys
She may not be one of the boys, but Katy Perry certainly knows how to get the attention of the boys and the girls. With her debut album One of the Boys Katy Perry is making sure everyone knows that when she was posed as the next big thing back in 2004 it wasn’t a mistake. Right from the get go Mrs. Perry captures you with her voice and never let’s you go until the end of the last song Fingerprints. While others may feel that Katy Perry hasn’t lived up to her potential (I want to know what CD they were listening to because it surly wasn’t the one I was), this CD is nothing less then just short of prefect. Out of the 12 songs 7 to 9 have the ability to hit singles (not like her single I Kissed A Girl knocked off power house Coldplay from the number one spot on the billboard chart or anything, has been the top download song on iTunes for quite some time, and the 1000th chart-topper of the Rock Era). I have a feeling this is only a taste of what Katy Perry is capable of and we will be seeing big things from her for some time to come.
4 out of 5.

Last Stop: Crappy Town....I think not
From the second Songs Not To Get Married To ended I was ready and waiting for the next Reggie and the Full Effect CD. Through all the rumors and speculations about troubles between Vagrant and Reggie master mind James Dewees I had hopes that one day we would see this album. Then came James joining My Chemical Romance as a full time member kind of crushed everything for me. Then one day as I was skimming my issue of AP I came across something that brought a smile back to my face. Reggie’s new CD was coming out June 17, 2008 and all those hopes, dreams, and wonders about how this CD would sound came back.
Once you boarded the train to Crappy Town at the G station the ride was nothing like you would expected until one gets off at N stop. Right from the get go you knew this was going to be a journey into the dark side of James Dewees and everything he has gone through in the past 3 years. From his bitter divorce, trouble with drugs and adapting to a new life in New York City, to rehab and getting re-married this album is nothing but raw passion and emotion. You can basically that Dewees has gotten back to his hardcore roots from his days in Coalesce and is no longer the indie Get Up Kid we once knew.
No matter who he is James Dewees has given Reggie and the Full Effect fans something to be proud of and not take out of their CD player or turn repeat off on their iPod. To say I was let down would be a joke because honestly I got more then I was expecting and more. September 12th is going to be a crazy night as it will be my last and first time seeing Reggie and the Full Effect and from what I have heard I am in for a treat with the show.
4.5/5
Only reason it got a 4.5 is because I kind of want to know what happened to Fluxuation and Common Denominator. Plus you have to miss the old drunk person at a Get Up Kids show parts (Yea I know The Get Up Kids are broken up I was at their last Jersey show).

Tyga - No Introduction
From the first beat of Diamond Life to the last line in EST. [80’s Baby] Tyga’s debut CD No Introduction has brought a fresh face to Hip Hop. All of the track’s were provided by S*A*M Sluggo, Patrick Stump, and Evan Big Evil and keeping everything out of the main stream gave this CD an edge it needed. Out of the thirteen songs there is not one you want to rush your finger over to the skip button and no topic about Tyga’s life is off topic. From his love life (Pillow Talkin’, AIM, First Timers) to his family problems growing up (Don’t Regret It Now & 2 AM) Tyga takes you into his life for about 45 minutes and leaves no stone unturned during your stay. This was a big risk for Pete Wentz and Decaydance to break from the pop punk/emo field and take risk in Tyga and with the production quality of this CD that risk will be a huge pay off. The future look’s bright for Decaydance, Tyga, and the rest of his G.E.D crew. 4 out of 5.

Over the few days or weeks I am going to take a look at the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360
I remember when Microsoft first announced they were going to be breaking into the console video game arena. At first I thought it was a joke and what kind of impact could Microsoft make on an area that is dominated by Sony and Nintendo. I mean the PSone, PS2, N64, and Gamecube had the industry on lock and there was no way someone who had no console experience would have lasted long.
Then Microsoft unveiled the XBOX. A big bulky black box that looked like a mix between a PS2 and Gamecube. Now take into fact that I never really played or took a good look at the original XBOX so I can not go into that much detail. Yea I could go and look up pictures, but they don't give the same information and idea then having one right in front of you. However I did mess around with the controller and could never get a real feel it. I was so use to the Dual Shock for PS2 that anything different had no use to me. Hell even the Gamecube controller looked like a freak to me, hence maybe why I never messed with it.
Yet it seemed like all the major gaming studios were backing the Microsoft and the idea they had. You have all the sports games titles and all of the cross platform games. So once it was released it seemed like Microsoft was in it for the long run. They had solid numbers with consoles sold and games they had promised.
Final the biggest push for XBOX came a game from a little studio called Bungie Studios by the name of HALO. A game critics and gamers praised and said was the best thing to happen to gaming in a long time. Was this writer sold on HALO just alone...nope, he still had high hopes and big dreams about the idea that was Playstation 3 and every E3 came and went with a mention here and there until about E3 2005 when Sony showed us the "future" of gaming.
Of course before I get ahead of myself Microsoft gave a kick start to the future with the XBOX 360. A huge kick off that wasn't if I may add followed by under production and console shortage , but not as bad as the Wii.
So why is it that today under this persons TV (which I might add is pretty kick ass) sits an XBOX 360 instead of a PS3. Could it be the $600 price tag? The unfulfilled promises of games and capabilities, or the online community? All of that is going to be discussed in the coming post as I take a look at GTA IV, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfair, and NCAA Football 2008.

The past four years
The past four years have been filled with there ups and downs, great times and horrible times, new friends and the lose of old friends. People grow up and people grow apart which is a part of life. You just have to realize that life isn't always the way it seems and get off your ass and make something of it.
I am starting this blog because I really need to start to write more in order for me to clear my head and have something to help me get a job. There will be things you like and things you don't like and I really don't care how you feel, just as long as I inform you is all I care about.
