From the second Songs Not To Get Married To ended I was ready and waiting for the next Reggie and the Full Effect CD. Through all the rumors and speculations about troubles between Vagrant and Reggie master mind James Dewees I had hopes that one day we would see this album. Then came James joining My Chemical Romance as a full time member kind of crushed everything for me. Then one day as I was skimming my issue of AP I came across something that brought a smile back to my face. Reggie’s new CD was coming out June 17, 2008 and all those hopes, dreams, and wonders about how this CD would sound came back.
Once you boarded the train to Crappy Town at the G station the ride was nothing like you would expected until one gets off at N stop. Right from the get go you knew this was going to be a journey into the dark side of James Dewees and everything he has gone through in the past 3 years. From his bitter divorce, trouble with drugs and adapting to a new life in New York City, to rehab and getting re-married this album is nothing but raw passion and emotion. You can basically that Dewees has gotten back to his hardcore roots from his days in Coalesce and is no longer the indie Get Up Kid we once knew.
No matter who he is James Dewees has given Reggie and the Full Effect fans something to be proud of and not take out of their CD player or turn repeat off on their iPod. To say I was let down would be a joke because honestly I got more then I was expecting and more. September 12th is going to be a crazy night as it will be my last and first time seeing Reggie and the Full Effect and from what I have heard I am in for a treat with the show.
4.5/5
Only reason it got a 4.5 is because I kind of want to know what happened to Fluxuation and Common Denominator. Plus you have to miss the old drunk person at a Get Up Kids show parts (Yea I know The Get Up Kids are broken up I was at their last Jersey show).
